You are an Unconscious Habitual Smoker

habitual smoker

You have set a routine in your life that has a cigarette as a part of it. Specific cues, such as eating dinner, waking up, driving, have helped your brain associate smoking with that cue. Your brain will automatically desire a cigarette during these times.  The key to successful smoking cessation is to train your brain to separate the cue from the desire for the cigarette.

To quit smoking and quit any habit forever, you need to take three main steps:

  1. Fully commit to quitting
  2. Accept that you have chosen to smoke and come to peace with that. Understanding that you chose to smoke empowers you to choose to stop.
  3. Train your brain to treat the quitting process as a project, not a punishment.
